What is Google Search Console?

Google Search Console allows webmasters to check indexing status, search queries, crawling errors and optimise visibility of their websites. It helps you monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results.

What are the benefits of linking Google Search Console?

Linking Google Search Console allows you to view your consoles data within your GA4 property. You are then able to determine what users saw in their Google Search results before they clicked through to your website.

"How is this useful?"

You can decide to use this data to optimise your website and content based on popular search results and identify new opportunities to prioritise existing data on your website to drive more traffic to your site.

"How can I use this in practice?"

You can view your landing page reports or keywords reports to identify the pages/keywords that have high click through rates (CTR) on search results pages but have poor average ranking positions.
Then you can optimise and your search queries and rankings to improve ranking positions to drive more traffic to you site.
